WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) — Family, friends, loved ones and community members gathered in Winchester on Friday afternoon to say a final goodbye to McKenna Letcher. Letcher — the 15-year-old freshman at George Rogers Clark High School — was tragically killed Tuesday morning after she was hit by a school bus while walking to school. As family members prepared to lay McKenna to rest on Friday, they delivered a message of forgiveness. “We don’t have any details on the school bus driver or anything. But we pray, if he’s watching, we want him to know, we don’t think it’s his fault. It’s no one’s fault,” says Caleb Reynolds, a cousin of McKenna’s. “It was an accident and we pray for him. He needs prayers just as much as we do.” The family says it’s a message fitting of McKenna: one full of love. “She was McKenna. There was nothing else like her,” Reynolds continues. “She was a beautiful girl, beautiful smile. She brought smiles to the family no matter who was around no matter the situation. She brought smiles to everybody.” With McKenna now laid to rest, an entire community continues to grieve. “She loved her family and her friends fiercely, a love you can’t describe,” says Gena Reynolds, McKenna’s aunt. “And her little sisters looked up to her so much and she was a great sister to her brother.” As her family prepares for life without McKenna, those closest to her say the impact she left on others, will forever remain. In the meantime, McKenna’s family knows how they’ll choose to remember her. “Just how much she was loved,” says Caleb. “And how much joy she brought to this earth.” Categories: Featured, Local News, News Tags: 15 Year Old, ABC 36, Funeral, George Rogers Clark, George Rogers Clark High School, GRCHS, Hit, Killed, Letcher, McKenna, Paxton Boyd, school bus, WTVQ
