AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Thursday night and Friday bring last chances of rain for a few days leading to a sunny weekend with fresh mornings. Rain chances for Friday NEW BLOG: September forecast updated. Will rain continue? CENTRAL TEXAS RAINFALL TOTALS Thursday night could still bring a few isolated showers with only a 10% chance of a few showers by Friday afternoon. Much more sunshine is expected as we move through Friday. By the weekend, a frontal boundary is expected to arrive and drive in drier air and dropping our temperatures to the mid 60s. Highs for the afternoon are expected to remain in the upper 80s to low 90s. Weekend forecast The tropics are becoming a bit more active as we are just days away from the peak of hurricane season. Warmer-than-normal sea surface temperatures and favorable conditions have created the perfect recipe for multiple storms to attempt to build, however all have very low chances of developing.
