Andrew Siciliano, a veteran broadcaster of Big Ten football and NFL games, is the new play-by-play radio announcer for Browns games. Siciliano is replacing Jim Donovan. Donovan on Aug. 29 announced he had to give up announcing games after 25 years in the booth because the cancer he has been battling for about 20 years has returned. Siciliano was in the Browns’ radio booth for the first three games last year while Donovan underwent treatment for leukemia. Donovan announced his final game on Aug. 27 of this year when the Browns played the Seahawks in Seattle in a preseason game. “I’m honored for the opportunity, but wish the circumstances were different,” Siciliano said in a statement. “Like every Browns fan, I was stunned last week when I learned of Jim’s retirement. I know I have big shoes to fill. Jim’s an icon, an amazing man and an indelible part of this community. I’m so grateful to Jim for his gracious support last season when I did a few games and will never forget sitting in the stands and listening to his call when the Browns clinched the playoffs in Week 17.” Nathan Zegura remains the in-booth color analyst on the radio broadcasts. Je’Rod Cherry will continue as the sideline reporter. Siciliano worked the Summer Olympics for NBC in 2016, 2020 and 2024. He was born in Reston, Va., and graduated from Syracuse University. He became a devout fan of the Indians/Guardians and of the Browns long, long before the opportunity to work in the Browns radio booth opened last year while Donovan was ill. “I’m one of millions of Browns fans who have lived through Jim’s calls for the last 25 years,” Siciliano said. “If I was at home, I would sync the radio feed to the TV. If I was working, and I was usually working, I would scour the internet looking for Jim’s calls. No big game or big play or great moment was complete without his voice. I am flattered, and I am grateful to the Browns for giving me this amazing opportunity. It is a humbling honor.” Donovan penned an open letter to Browns fans while announcing his retirement from radio. He retired as the sports anchor on WKYC TV-3 in June. “I have called my last Browns game and that’s why I’m writing to you,” Donovan said in a statement. “As many of you know, I have been dealing with cancer for many years. I’ve gone through every treatment imaginable. But my cancer is a defiant opponent and has returned and very aggressively. This will require me to devote everything I have in me to continue the fight and my family and I are committed to doing that. “I have called Browns games for 25 years. Not a day has gone by when I haven’t paused and been so proud to be “The Voice of the Browns.” Cheryl (Donovan’s wife), Meghan (daughter) and I thank you for all the love, support and prayers during my rough patches. It’s like having a huge family around us. And that’s what makes the Cleveland Browns so special. You do. “Now let’s get those Cowboys and make this ’24-’25 season a great one!  I’ll be watching and listening. Here We Go Brownies…Here We Go! “It’s been an honor. “Jim Donovan” The play-by-play broadcast can be heard on WKRK-FM 92.3 The Fan, WNCX-FM 98.5, WKNR-AM 850 ESPN Cleveland, The Cleveland Browns Radio Network, ClevelandBrowns.com and the Browns’ mobile app. Cowboys at Browns When: 4:25 p.m. Sept. 8 Where: Huntington Bank Field Records: Cowboys 0-0, Browns 0-0 TV: WJW; Radio: WKRK-FM 92.3, WNCX-FM 98.5, WKNR-AM 850, WKKY-FM 104.7
