IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. – 31-year-old Kenyatta Smoot was arrested during a traffic stop and is facing multiple drug charges after being in possession of 15 grams of cocaine, according to a news release. The release states that on September 2, Smoot was stopped for a violation on Waterlynn Ridge Road and acted suspicious according to Deputy Zalepka. A search of the vehicle was conducted and Deputy Zalepka states he found: 15.5 grams of cocaine individually packaged Eight dosage units of buprenorphine 23 dosage units of alprazolam 13 dosage units of lorazepam Six dosage units of clonazepam A fully loaded Smith and Wesson handgun $1,7440 Smoot was arrested and is being charged with: Felony possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine Felony maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance Misdemeanor simple possession of a schedule III controlled substance Three counts of misdemeanor simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance Misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon Misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
