HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman has been indicted on a felony charge in connection to the escape of Naseem Roulack, a Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) inmate, from Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital in Henrico County in 2023. According to VADOC, Sasha Castillo of Washington, D.C. was indicted on the felony charge of aiding the escape of a prisoner by a grand jury on Monday, July 1. A start date for her trial has not yet been set. Naseem Roulack, who was serving a 13-year sentence for aggravated malicious wounding, grand larceny and hit-and-run, was at Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023 to undergo a medical procedure when he escaped. Around a week after his escape, the two VADOC officers assigned to supervise Roulack while he was at the hospital admitted to being asleep at the time he escaped and resigned in order to avoid being terminated. Roulack was found and arrested at a hotel in the Springfield area of Fairfax County on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023. VADOC did not specify what Castillo's involvement in Roulack's escape was.
