The man convicted of felony criminal vehicular homicide in the death of Melissa Rack in December 2022, is back in jail on a probation violation related to a separate case. Darin Douglas Finley, 37, is being held in the Mower County Jail on a probation violation related to a gross misdemeanor DWI conviction that came about after he was arrested in January of 2023 and refused to submit to a chemical test. Finley was sentenced to two years supervised probation in that case, however, according to a court document filed Wednesday, it ordered Finley be taken into custody and the probation for that case be revoked and annulled. That same day, a warrant was issued for Finley’s arrest related to an as of yet identified probation violation. According to the Mower County Jail website, Finley was book at 4:21 p.m. on Thursday. He is being held without bail. A probation hearing has been set for Sept. 12 on which he will also be sentenced for the death of Rack.
