SCURRY COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) — Another sizeable earthquake has been recorded in West Texas this week. The earthquake, which the United States Geological Survey says was magnitude 4.8, happened about 9 miles northeast of Hermleigh, which is about 15 miles east of Snyder and 24 miles northwest of Sweetwater, around 9:28 a.m. Friday. Three earthquakes shake West Texas, felt in Dallas-Fort Worth Earlier this week, a series of earthquakes, including one that was magnitude 4.9, struck in a similar location. Citizens across the Big Country, including Abilene, called Nexstar affiliate KTAB and KRBC to report rumbles and the shaking of personal items. One resident in Rotan said his window was damaged. A secondary earthquake registered at magnitude 3.2 was recorded around 9:40 a.m. MAP: Where have earthquakes been recorded in Texas?
