WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A sixth grader from Newton is being recognized for his hair. Ruger Beaman is competing in the USA Mullet Championship this year. He submitted photos and a story about the mullet. People can vote for their favorite. He wants to win the competition and also honor his grandpa who passed away. "I put LA to represent my grandpa, who was a really big fan of the Dodgers," said Beaman. The LA on the side of his hair is in honor and memory. The first round of online voting starts July 10.
