WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are investigating after a motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash Wednesday night. Officers were called to the intersection of Warwick Avenue and Edgehill Road just after 9 p.m. for reports of a crash involving a motorcycle. Investigators believe the motorcyclist crashed into a sedan that was making a left-hand turn onto Edgehill Road. Speed appears to be a factor in the crash, according to police. Despite wearing a helmet, police said the motorcyclist suffered significant injuries in the crash, including a laceration to the head. He was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital where he remains in critical condition. The driver of the sedan was also brought to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Sgt. Aaron Kay by calling (401) 468-4293 or emailing aaron.kay@warwickri.gov. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox.
