HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Honolulu police are searching for the suspect involved in a serious hit-and-run motor vehicle collision on Farrington Highway in the Waianae area. Download the free KHON2 app for iOS or Android to stay informed on the latest news Officials said the crash happened at 3:33 a.m. when a 51-year-old male moped rider was struck by an unidentified driver while he was traveling eastbound on Farrington Highway. Police on the lookout for drug-impaired drivers for July 4th Once struck, the moped rider was launched onto the roadway. The unidentified driver failed to stop and render aid or provide information. According to police, the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the moped rider to an area hospital in serious condition. Anyone with information is advised to contact the Honolulu Police Department's Traffic Division at (808) 723=3413.
