Fairlington July 4th Parade draws crowd in Arlington

ARLINGTON COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Two legs, four legs. walking or riding, the annual Fourth of July celebration in Fairlington found dozens upon dozens of neighbors coming together Thursday.
The Fairlington Citizens Association (FCA) and Fairlington Villages hosted the community's July 4th Parade.
The yearly event, which starts at the Fairlington Fire Staeion on South Abingdon Street, featured the return of a fife duo for 2024, providing music to accomapny the sea of red, white, and blue clothing and American flags which marchers wore and carried.

Arlington County police officers on motorcycles led the parade and the county's Fire Station 9 provided a fire truck for it.
After the parade, there was a celebration at the Fairlington Villages Community Center that included food and drinks as well as activities for children.
The day featured a bake sale to benefit the Arlington Food Assistance Center.
