Neva Pilgrim, recognized as the driving force behind Cazenovia Counterpoint, will be present only in memory this summer. Her death in January left a void in the arts community of Central New York, where she spearheaded the festival and Syracuse Society for New Music, which sponsors it. To honor her legacy, Cazenovia Counterpoint, which takes place in multiple village venues throughout July, will maintain its traditional focus on all the expressive arts and will continue Pilgrim’s emphasis on showcasing new talent.
