ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO)– An Orangeburg man has been charged in connection with a homicide that happened over the weekend, says OCSO. Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says 37-year-old Brad Lowry has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a weapon or ammunition by a person convicted of a felony. “My investigators worked on this case from the first moment on through the weekend. This is the result of their hard work and just simple relentlessness,” the sheriff says. Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office investigators were called around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday after receiving reports of a shooting. When they arrived to the scene, investigators confirmed that a 45-year-old Neeses man was deceased after locating him lying near the roadway in the 1800 block of McMichael Street. Lowry was taken into custody on early Wednesday after OCSO investigators located him at a Corona Apartments home in Orangeburg. The sheriff’s office says he was formally presented his rights in a court appearance on Wednesday. The investigation is ongoing.
