AUSTIN (Austin Business Journal) -- Austin popsicle company GoodPop is suing one of its competitors, JonnyPops, claiming it's falsely advertising a better-for-you product. In a June 27 lawsuit, GoodPop — incorporated as Natural Frozen Pops Inc. — claims JonnyPops aren't as healthy as they come across. On top of that, the suit alleges, JonnyPops contain less than 2% fruit. For GoodPop executives, that doesn't match up with JonnyPops’ boxes that are typically covered with images of fruit. The lawsuit claims that consumers have been “misled,” finding that in a survey of household grocery shoppers, half of the respondents believed JonnyPops’ Organic Rainbow Fruit Stacks are primarily made from fruit and others believing there is at least 50% fruit in the product.
