ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - It is a warm start to your July Fourth as temperatures started in the 70s this morning. We climb right back into the middle and upper 80s this afternoon. Monroe County should avoid the rain this afternoon as we don't have any boundaries moving through, although there's enough mid-level moisture around to warrant cloud coverage through a lot of the day. A deepening storm system in the Great Lakes Thursday night into Friday morning brings back rain chances, but showers and storms will probably hold off until the peak heating of the day. These storms could be strong with heavy rain and strong winds. We are still starting in the upper 60s and finishing in the 80s.  The low's center stays north of New York State going into Saturday, keeping rain chances around. The good news is that those rain chances should be generally low as the system weakens. Sunday looks like the better of the two days with partial sunshine and just a random isolated pop up shower possible. We are probably a touch cooler Sunday with numbers in the lower 60s to around 80°. We are dry Monday and our next rain chance (plus a bump in the heat) falls on Tuesday.
