RAMONA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A 63-year-old driver died on Wednesday when his car crashed into another vehicle in Ramona, authorities said. The collision occurred around 3:30 p.m. on State Route 78 near Salmon Road, Officer Jared Grieshaber with the California Highway Patrol confirmed to FOX 5/KUSI. A Ramona resident driving a Chevrolet S-10 was traveling westbound in the aforementioned location when for unknown reasons he lost control of his vehicle and crashed head-on into an Isuzu box truck traveling eastbound, according to CHP. County explains reasoning behind water closures ahead of July Fourth The Chevrolet driver died due to his injuries at the scene, while the box truck driver, a 46-year-old of El Cajon, did not get hurt. Both drivers were the only people inside their vehicles. Authorities do not believe driving under the influence was a factor in the crash.
