SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) Rain is falling early Thursday morning in north central South Dakota and northwestern Iowa. While the rain will exit Iowa later this morning, expect periods of rain through the morning in northeastern South Dakota. Periods of rain will continue from the Missouri River and east throughout the day.  Not an ideal Fourth of July forecast, but the pattern has been wet, and it will continue. With the clouds and rain, temperatures will be well below average.  Some will struggle out of the 60s in eastern KELOLAND.  It could be a record setting day for coldest highs in northeast South Dakota. Fourth of July celebrations canceled in Sioux Falls Expect scattered rain Thursday evening in eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota.  Be sure to check KELOLAND Live Doppler on your StormTracker app as you go about your evening festivities. Lows tonight will fall to the 50s and 60s. Scattered showers will last into Friday and for the weekend in eastern KELOLAND.  Though heavy rain is not anticipated, the rain will be more of a nuisance than anything else.  Highs this weekend will reach the 70s and 80s. As the western United States warms next week, some of the hot air will spill over into western South Dakota.  This will most likely keep western South Dakota dry, but we’ll still have periods of rain in eastern KELOLAND.
