ROCHESTER N.Y.(WROC) - Jack Davidson and Klatyn Hynes say this is their first year owning and operating a firework stand. Their tent has been up and running since Saturday, but today they say has been their busiest day so far. However, they expect more people to arrive the day after the holiday. "We've had some people say they're going to come in July 5th because they get paid on Friday," said Davidson. "A lot of people have their family parties on a Saturday after, so they'll come in before that," said Hynes. They said most customers have been showing up between Noon-2pm with the popular firework purchase being the "Countdown", which showcases numbers in descending order starting from ten. The least sold were the sparklers. However, Alex Tolbert who was doing some last minute shopping says sparklers are his go to. "I usually play it a little bit safe. I exercise a little bit of caution. I just want to be timid. I don't want to scare the neighbors or any of the local pets, so I figured sparklers are the perfect thing to do," said Tolbert. Tolbert shares his ideal way to spend independence day. "Usually always with barbeque. Got to have a barbeque and if you can get on a boat, on a lake somewhere, I'd love to do that as well. Grab some drinks with some friends and family and just grab some sparklers as well," said Tolbert. The owners of the TNT fireworks tent say you must be at least 18 years old to make a purchase.
