SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - The annual 4th of July celebration in South Hadley brought families together for a night of fun and excitement as they celebrated America's birthday. This year, attendees were treated to a spectacular fireworks display at the Michael E. Smith Middle School. From face painting to rock-wall climbing to bouncy castles, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Many told 22News this event was a perfect way to celebrate Independence Day! "It feels awesome," said Nicki Jamrog of South Hadley. "We've been looking forward to this all weekend prepping for it, so we're looking forward to it." "It's just a great way to kick off the summer for people to, you know, enjoy a family friendly evening," added Human Services Director, Andy Rogers. "You know, it's really critical for the town." If you missed the chance to come out for the festivities Wednesday night, you still have a chance to check them out Thursday. The rides and food trucks will continue to be open to the public, starting in the afternoon.
