(WFRV) - For the first time in a decade, the Milwaukee Brewers will have multiple starters in the MLB All-Star game, as was announced by Major League Baseball on Wednesday evening. Christian Yelich and William Contreras will represent the Brew Crew at the midsummer classic, with the former making his return to the annual event after five years. Wisconsin native Sam Brooker debuts Packers-themed song ‘The Town of Green Bay’ Yelich had struggled to find his all-star form ever since the 2019 edition but has seemingly regained that luster, despite missing nearly a month earlier in the season. This is the third time the left-handed slugger has been named to the all-star team. Contreras on the other hand, has been arguably the best catcher in baseball, with 8.3 Wins Above Replacement since the start of 2023. While he was an all-star with Atlanta in 2022, this is his first time being named a starter. Milwaukee Brewers acquire starting pitcher from Tampa Bay The slugging duo has helped the Brewers en route to a six-game lead atop the NL Central, and they are one of seven ballclubs with multiple starters, with the Philadelphia Phillies leading the way with three. The complete roster will be revealed on Sunday, July 7 at 4:30 p.m.
