Captains win at Dayton in 10 innings

Angel Genao’s RBI single in the top of the 10th inning was the game-winner July 3 as the visiting Captains won at Dayton, 2-1, in extra innings.
With the victory, Lake County improved to 47-30 on the season.
Dayton took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth on a Hector Rodriguez sacrifice fly but the Captains answered in the top of the sixth to tie the game at 1-1 on Alex Mooney’s sacrifice fly that scored Genao, who had three hits on the night. The second baseman is batting .319 this season.
Jonah Advincula had two stolen bases for the Lake County and has 22 this season.
Rorik Maltrud started for the Captains and got a no-decision but pitched well. He went six innings, allowed five hits, one earned run, two walks, and struck out four. His season ERA is 1.64.
Magnus Ellerts (3-2) got the win in relief. He pitched two scoreless innings and struck out four. Adam Tulloch pitched the ninth and earned his first save of the season.
Lake Catholic and Dayton play again on July 4 but the game will be played at Classic Auto Group Park in Eastlake. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
