San Diego police arrested a 25-year-old woman attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border Tuesday in connection with a 2020 killing in Talmadge.
Sheila Camarena, 28, was arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting 33-year-old Mychael Farve on Sept. 18, 2020, on Euclid Avenue north of El Cajon Boulevard, Lt. Steve Shebloski said in a news release.
Police said they found Farve with at least one gunshot wound to his upper body. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Investigators later learned that Camarena and Farve had been in a relationship and the two had a confrontation just before the shooting, Shebloski said.
The next year, an arrest warrant was issued for Camarena.
Camarena was taken into custody at the San Ysidro Port of Entry by San Diego police, Shebloski said.
No other information was immediately available.
