(KRON) -- Units with the San Jose Police Department are on the scene of a reported bomb threat. SJPD personnel are in the area of Ridder Park and Fox Lane. How long will Bay Area heat wave last? Special Operations and SJPD units responded to the scene to investigate. During a search of the area, officers located a suspicious item that prompted a response from the bomb squad. The item has since been rendered safe. The incident, suspicious item, and circumstances are still being investigated, police said. Businesses nearby were evacuated as a precaution, police said. Road closures will remain in place with southbound Oakland from Fox to Brokaw closed, and Ridder Park from Fox to Brokaw also closed. Police are still asking people to avoid the area.
