BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. -- A Greensburg woman died and two others were injured after a Tuesday afternoon crash in Bartholomew County, according to officials with the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office. At around 4:11 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies from the sheriff's office responded to a two vehicle collision near the intersection of E 100 S and S 525 E. When officials arrived, they found that both vehicles involved, including a Chevrolet Impala and a Chevrolet pickup truck, had extensive damage. The occupants in both vehicles, including two in the Impala, were trapped. Rochester man dead after Fulton County crash The release said that personnel from various fire departments got the trapped individuals out of their respective cars. The driver of the Impala, identified as 51-year-old Tonya Whiteside, a Greensburg resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the Impala, identified as a 47-year-old man from Greensburg, and the driver of the pickup truck, identified as a 21-year-old Bedford man, was transported to a local hospital by helicopter for the injuries they sustained in the crash. After a preliminary investigation, officials believe the Impala disregarded a stop sign at the intersection, which resulted in the collision. The release said that drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in this incident. This incident is still under investigation by the Bartholomew County Accident Reconstruction Team.
