BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) - Wello's first Yield to Your Neighbor 'Frogger' campaign of 2024 has come and gone, and results including the number of warnings issued and compliance rate have been provided. Officials with Wello partnered with local law enforcement agencies throughout Brown County on June 27 to promote crosswalk education and pedestrian safety efforts. Vehicles were stopped for failing to follow the law of yielding to pedestrians, which resulted in warnings and/or tickets at the officer’s discretion. Northeast Wisconsin’s June rainfall totals, July starting active The combined results from all locations are as follows: Number of Departments - 6 Number of Municipalities Covered - 10 Number of Frogger Locations - 13 Warnings Issued - 111 Vehicles Yielding Correctly - 861 Compliance Rate - 89% Our vigilance for pedestrian safety keeps our community moving forward, one safe step at a time. Our participation in Frogger is another reminder to the motoring public that we share the roads with pedestrians, bicyclists, and others. Our goal is not to issue traffic citations, rather we want everyone on Brown County roadways to be as safe as possible. Capt. The last two Frogger events for 2024 will take place on Thursday, August 22, and Wednesday, October 2.
