FARGO, ND (KXNET) — A truck fire on a Fargo interstate has resulted in the total loss of a vehicle, as well as a crash in nearby Minnesota, on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 3. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a Dodge Ram was traveling westbound on I-94 between the Red River Bridge and the University Drive exit when its driver (a 67-year-old man from Davenport) noticed smoke coming from the vehicle. North Dakota Crash Tracker 2024 As he pulled over to the outside shoulder, he observed that the car was on fire, and exited alongside a passenger (a 63-year-old woman, also from Davenport). The Fargo Fire Department responded to and extinguished the blaze. However, it was noted that as a result of the fire, traffic backed up into Minnesota — where a minor property damage crash occurred westbound on the same interstate. This accident was investigated by the MN State Patrol. The Ram was a total loss. Neither the driver nor the passenger of the vehicle was injured. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
