Whatever your flavor of Fourth of July, Baltimore has plenty of ways to spend the Independence Day holiday. Check it all out in our weekend events roundup: Justin Timberlake, Wednesday, July 3, doors open 6:30 p.m., event begins 7:30 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. Traveling on his “Forget Tomorrow” world tour, pop singer Justin Timberlake will perform in Baltimore at the CFG Bank Arena. Red, White & Zoo, Thursday, July 4, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Maryland Zoo. Throughout the day, Fourth-of-July-themed treats will be fed to the zoo’s animals, including chimpanzees, African porcupines, warthogs, bobcat, farmyard animals, and lions. Baltimore 4th of July Spectacular, Thursday, July 4, 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Inner Harbor. Fourth of July festivities will kick off at the Inner Harbor around 3 p.m., and will continue through the afternoon until the fireworks and drone show at 9:30 p.m., which will be accompanied by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Get your best animal friend dressed up in their patriotic outfit for AVAM’s Fourth of July Pet Parade. Hot Dog Eating Contest, Thursday, July 4, 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Cross Street Market. Think you’ve got what it takes to win Cross Street Market’s 3rd annual 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest and come home with a $1,000 grand prize check? Register online at Cross Street Market’s website. There will also be live music, drink vendors, and more. Rotunda Rocks, Friday, July 5, 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., Rotunda in Hampden. Kyf Brewer & Friends will perform a mix of 60s pop radio, British Invasion, early Nashville, rhythm and blues, and ancient Celtic melodies. Ten-Minute Play Festival, Friday, July 5, through Sunday, July 7, MICA, 1601 West Mount Royal Avenue. Watch ten-minute plays created by local authors. General admission tickets are $20. There will be a special discounted night on July 11, when tickets will be just $10. The festival runs from July 5-21. American Salute, Saturday, July 6, 7:30 p.m., Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Coming off their Star-Spangled Celebration performance at the Inner Harbor’s Rash Field Park on July 4, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will continue the patriotic tunes with their American Salute concert. The event will feature music representing various slices of the American identity, ranging from Morton Gould’s “American Salute” (which the concert is titled after) to Leonard Bernstein’s “Mambo” of the musical “West Side Story.” Yoga and Music in the Park, Sunday, July 7, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Patterson Park, next to Doggie Stick Library (corner of Eastern and Ellwood streets). Join the Baltimore Electronic Collective for yoga and live music as the sun sets over the park. BJJ Trio, Sunday, July 7, 6 p.m., An Die Musik. The BJJ Trio comprises electric guitarist Brandon Born, electric bassist Jude Botten, and drummer and percussionist Jake Askarinam. Enjoy the trio’s exploration of jazz, funk, rock, blues, R&B, and avant-garde music.
