AUSTIN (KXAN) — Just under 500 locations were inspected by Austin Public Health in April, and 65 of those received perfect health inspection scores. Due to a much smaller pool of completed inspections, the share of perfect scores may seem inflated. However, April is a slower month for inspections each year. In April 2023, APH inspected 564 locations with 9.9% of those locations earning perfect scores. The average monthly rate (10.8%) is starting to approach with last year's rate of 11.4%.
