We're quickly heading into a classic early July weather pattern with the 4th of July right around the corner. This features rising temperatures, with last night not nearly as cool as earlier in the week. After starting the day in the 60s to lower 70s, we'll see readings climb up into the upper 80s and lower 90s this afternoon. A steady southerly wind is in place with high pressure off to our east, funneling in plenty of moisture and making it feel muggy once again. It will stay dry through tonight, but with high pressure pushing away a frontal boundary will be approaching from the west and increasing cloud cover. Any plans you may have during the morning tomorrow are looking good to go, as it stays quiet until after lunchtime. A cloudy sky will give way to some sunshine by the afternoon, leading to temperatures spiking into the 90s. Humidity levels will spike as well, making it feel like it's in the triple digits. Be sure to stay hydrated and take breaks in the AC if you can through your celebrations. Mother Nature will start to try and cool us off into the afternoon and evening, with scattered storms developing to the west and rolling east. Given all of the heat and humidity, a few stronger storms could develop, but the overall severe weather threat will be low. These thunderstorms will fall apart as we head into the night, so the fireworks displays should still go off without a hitch tomorrow night. Very little will be changing with the forecast through the rest of the holiday weekend, as heat, humidity, and storm chances remain. The frontal boundary to our west will get hung up nearby, not completely sweeping across the area until Saturday night. This will give us isolated to scattered storms each afternoon and evening on Friday and Saturday. Temperatures will remain in the 90s, with heat index values in the triple digits thanks to high humidity. Sunday will be our one break from everything, just in time to wrap up the holiday weekend. It will still be in the low 90s, but humidity levels will drop and storms will not pop up as the front drops south of the DMV. This front will rebound back north for the beginning of next week, bringing heat, humidity, and storm chances back into the mix for next Monday and Tuesday. Stay cool out there, and have a great rest of your Wednesday! 7-Day Forecast: Today: Partly cloudy skies.
