WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A Wichita nonprofit now oversees foster care in Sedgwick County. EmberHope needs to hire about 300 people to provide all the needed services. The nonprofit was formerly in charge of services from 1997 to 2013. They said what they learned during their break will help them serve children better. "We really have taken our experience from our other programs and services, so from residential, from clinical services, foster care services, we're applying that to this contract and really bringing a best practice approach," Brenda Watkins, EmberHope Connections president, said. Next week, construction will start on the first youth residential center in the county.
