One seriously injured after pontoon boat holding 7 people capsizes on Lake Anna

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- One person is seriously injured after a pontoon boat holding seven people capsized on Lake Anna Tuesday evening.
At 10:48 p.m. on July 2, the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources received a report involving a single boat at Lake Anna in Louisa County with possible injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a pontoon boat capsized between Bear Castle Drive and the Brinks Landing area of the lake, according to the department.
Seven people were on the boat at the time, and one was taken to the hospital for serious injuries. The injured passenger was wearing a lifejacket when the boat capszized.
The department said the cause of the capsizing is still under investigation, but alcohol is not being investigated as a contributing factor.
