(WANE) -- Cops Cycling for Survivors will begin its 23rd annual ride around Indiana in honor of fallen law enforcement officers and their loved ones on Monday, the organization announced Wednesday. The 13-day bike ride around the perimeter of the state honors the seven Indiana law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty in 2023, including Auburn officer Master Trooper James Bailey of the Indiana State Police (ISP). Other officers being honored are Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office Deputy Asson Hacker, Indiana Department of Correction Maintenance Foreman Michael Robert Keel, ISP Trooper Aaron Smith, Tell City Police Department Sargeant Heather Glenn, Marion County Sheriff's Office Deputy Sheriff John Durm and Johnson County Sheriff's Office Deputy Sheriff Timothy Guyer. Active and retired police officers, as well as law enforcement survivors, family members and friends, will take part in the "Ride to Remember" for the fallen officers, raise awareness of the sacrifices made by law enforcement families and help aid survivors and co-workers of officers killed in the line of duty. The event will kick off with a ceremony Monday, July 8 at Indiana Government Center North's Police and Firefighters Memorial at 8 a.m. The cyclists will be passing through the Fort Wayne area July 9 to July 11, when they ride from Richmond to Bluffton, Bluffton to Angola and Angola to Mishawaka, respectively. The ride will end with a closing ceremony on July 20 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. For more information about the event, visit the Cops Cycling for Survivors website.
