UPDATE: All lanes on Gateway West at Airway opened up just before midnight on Tuesday, July 2. ORIGINAL: EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - All lanes on Gateway West at Airway were closed Tuesday evening, July 2, due to a crash, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Photos by KTSM crew TxDOT reported the crash just after 6 p.m. and asked motorists to use the Hawkins on-ramp onto Interstate 10 West, the backup was reported to Hawkins. A spokesperson with the El Paso Fire confirmed to KTSM that six people were taken to a local hospital. Three people sustained minor injuries, two people sustained moderate injuries and one person sustained serious injuries. This is a developing story and we will update once we learn more.
