LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWSNOW) — Phase one of Lexington’s heat plan begins Wednesday morning and will last until Friday, July 5th.
As part of the plan, Lextran is providing free rides to cooling stations for those experiencing homelessness, outreach teams will be distributing water throughout the city, and Lexington’s community centers will be open through the early evening for cooling centers.
The division of emergency management is also warning people to be extra cautious outside during this time to protect from any heat-related illnesses.
