CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Heart announced they have postponed the remaining dates on their international ‘Royal Flush Tour’ amid lead singer Ann Wilson’s cancer treatment. The band, led by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, was scheduled to perform at the North Charleston Coliseum on Oct. 17 with special guest Cheap Trick. Wilson released a statement detailing how she recently underwent surgery to remove a mass later identified as cancerous. She said the operation went well, but at the request of her doctors, she will now undergo chemotherapy treatment. “And so, my doctors are instructing me to take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover,” Wilson wrote. Wilson said she hopes to return to performing in 2025. Details regarding the plan for the remaining tour dates will be released shortly. “Thank you for all the support. This is merely a pause,” Wilson reassured fans. “I’ve much more to sing.” In addition to the North Charleston show, over 50 performances in cities across the United States and Canada will be postponed, with plans for scheduling yet to be announced. Heart canceled the European leg of the tour in May, saying Ann would “undergo a time-sensitive but routine medical procedure for which the minimum recovery time is six weeks.”
