Photo by Amy Lemus/NurPhoto via Getty Images PFF is the latest outlet to crown the Detroit Lions offensive line with some high honors. Just a few weeks out from training camp, the Detroit Lions offensive line holds the top spot in Pro Football Focus’s rankings. This certainly isn’t the unit’s first time atop the list over the past few years, but there have been times where they’ve dropped to second or third. “When healthy, the Lions’ offensive line was arguably the best unit in the NFL last season. Right tackle Penei Sewell was the league’s highest-graded offensive lineman, and Frank Ragnow earned the top spot among centers,” PFF’s Zoltán Buday writes. Back in January, the Lions came in second in Buday’s final 2023 offensive line rankings, so it’s likely their offseason moves helped push Detroit back into the top spot—combined with the retirement of Eagles center Jason Kelce. He notes that while the Lions lost left guard Jonah Jackson (who went to the Los Angeles Rams of all places), they signed Kevin Zeitler in free agency. The veteran guard ranked 15th in PFF grades among guards last season. It’s great to see the Lions offensive line back in the top spot. Notably, Jeremy wrote about how PFF ranked the defensive line among the top five in the NFL, which is a tad more surprising. And onto the rest of your notes. I feel like we’re all suckers for a hype training video this time of year. This one from Alim McNeill is sure to do the trick.
