LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – La Familia, the Kentucky alumni team hosting The Basketball Tournament’s Regional at Rupp Arena from July 19-23, has announced the addition of former Wildcat Aaron Harrison to their roster. Aaron Harrison, a former McDonald’s All-American, joins his twin brother Andrew Harrison and other former Wildcats including Nate Sestina, James Young, Daniel Orton, Kellan Grady, Marquis Teague, Willie Cauley-Stein, Eric Bledsoe, Doron Lamb, and Reid Travis on La Familia’s inaugural team. Harrison is well-remembered for his three game-winning shots in the 2014 NCAA tournament that led Kentucky to the championship game and back-to-back Final Four appearances. Harrison turned professional after his sophomore year, signing with the Charlotte Hornets and later playing for the Dallas Mavericks, G League teams, and overseas. Most recently, he played for FC Porto in Portugal, where he helped win the Portuguese Basketball Cup. La Familia will face the 305 Ballers on Friday, July 19, at 8 p.m. ET on FS2. If they advance, they will play the winner of WoCo Showtime (Wofford Alumni) and The Nawf on Sunday, July 21, at 2 p.m. ET on FOX. The Lexington Regional championship game is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, at 9 p.m. ET on FS1. The winner will move on to the quarterfinals against the Louisville Regional winner on July 29 or 30, with the semifinals and the $1 million championship game set for August 2 and August 4 in Philadelphia.
