HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Gary Rome Hyundai and Baystate Health will host a blood drive on Tuesday.

The need for blood increases in the summertime, often resulting in blood shortages. According to Gary Rome Hyundai, this blood drive will help replenish the local hospital supply, allowing them to provide life-saving blood products to patients in need. For anyone who donates blood, a choice of either a Big E-ticket or a $10 gift card to either Amazon, Dunkin, Big Y, Starbucks, or Chipotle will be offered.
“This is such an important cause. There is nowhere else to get blood than from people like you and me who are willing to roll up their sleeves. That is why I am a regular donor and we are incredibly pleased to do our part in sponsoring this drive,” said Gary Rome. “We strive to do the next right thing and be difference makers. You can help us make a difference and save someone’s life. Come out to Gary Rome Hyundai and donate.”
“By donating blood, an individual becomes a hero to someone by making sure there is blood on our shelves when a patient desperately needs it. With just one donation that one individual can help save many lives,” said Dr. Chester Andrzejewski, medical director of Transfusion Medicine Services at Baystate Medical Center.
The blood drive is scheduled to run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday at 150 Whiting Farms Road in Holyoke.
