RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Police Department has arrested two people in connection to a deadly shooting that took place on Hampton Street near Maymont Park in June. According to police, 51-year-old Lavena Brown of Chesterfield County was arrested with the help of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force and 25-year-old Daquan Brunson of Richmond was arrested by National Park Police officers in the Yorktown area of York County. Both Brown and Brunson have been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery, carjacking, using a firearm while committing murder, using a firearm while committing robbery and using a firearm while committing a carjacking. Brunson was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. All charges are in connection to the shooting death of 46-year-old Wilson Negron Jr. of Henrico County. At 6:24 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, Richmond Police officers responded to the 1300 block of Hampton Street for a reported shooting. When they got there, the officers found Negron injured on the ground. Negron was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
