PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Independence Day returns to Providence tonight with fireworks at India Point Park. In partnership with Narragansett Brewery, the event is set to start around 5 p.m. Fireworks will begin around 9 p.m. and should last until about 9:30 p.m. The free event will include dozens of food trucks, a beer garden, and live music. Parking and traffic restrictions will be in place during the celebration, with Gano Street and a portion of India Street from the ferry to the highway closing at 8 a.m. The city will also be putting no parking zones on portions of India Street, George Cohan Boulevard, Hope Street, and Gano Street. All of those no parking zones will begin at 6 a.m. According to the  ABC 6 news weather team, tonight should be perfect for fireworks.
