The Latest Northeast Wisconsin Forecast from Storm team 5... Good morning! An area of low pressure is advancing toward the area, bringing multiple rounds of showers and weak thunderstorms into the area today. Round one has arrived and will continue into the early afternoon. Expect a quarter to half an inch of rain from this round. Then into the afternoon, we will dry out but remain fairly cloudy. Highs will sit in the upper 60s to near 70. Winds will become fairly breezy out of the southwest near 25 mph. A Beach Hazard Statement and Small Craft Advisory are in place for winds gusting over 25 kts, rip currents and waves 1-3 ft in the bay and 3-6 ft on the lake. Round two of the showers and weak storms arrives late this evening and will continue through the overnight hours. Rainfall will be slighter higher with round, especially south of Green Bay. Totals from this event will be around 0.5" to 1", with isolated higher. As this system pulls away, will be watching for some patchy fog development. Lows tonight into the lower 60s. Beautiful day tomorrow with highs returning to the low to mid 80s. We wont have to worry about 'cooler by the lake' as a west wind, that will be breezy up to 25mph again, will keep the cooler air over the lake. Overnight, mostly clear and a low temp around 60. 4th of July looks to be fairly nice. Expecting partly cloudy skies and highs in the low 80s. A slow moving system will approach the area, but it appears that the rain will hold off until the later overnight hours, so fireworks shows look great. Friday kicks off another active period of showers and storms. Saturday looks dry before more rain Sunday and Monday.
