Iberville Parish to hold community meeting about Grosse Tete Bridge

GROSSE TETE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Iberville Parish Government announced it will be holding a community meeting regarding the Grosse Tete Bridge on Tuesday evening.
According to a social media post, the Iberville Parish Government said it will be hosting a community meeting at the Bayou Blue Fire Department from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2.
The public is invited to the meeting as updates will be given and questions will be answered.
On June 6, a tugboat with barges struck the Grosse Tete Bridge, leaving a significant amount of damage to the bridge.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) said repairs started on the bridge on June 25.

The bridge remains closed and a ferry is working to transport residents across Bayou Grosse Tete.
