(KRON) – Patelco Credit Union has announced its systems were experiencing a serious security incident on Saturday.  The credit union announced on X, “Our systems are currently unavailable. We are working to resolve the outage as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience. We apologize for the inconvenience.” Due to the security breach, customers could not use the banking systems, including electronic transactions, such as Zelle transfers, direct deposits, balance inquiries and online payment information.  Should gun store sales get special credit card tracking? States split on mandating or prohibiting it Beginning on Monday, Patelco employees will be able to assist in person at the branches, live chat and call centers. Due to the anticipated large number of callers, customers should expect a longer wait time.  The credit union website’s disclaimer said, “We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and frustration caused by this incident. Our branches, call center and chat will be ready to assist as much as possible during regular business hours July 1. We’ll answer your questions as best we can, but we’re unable to provide specific account details at this time. For hours and nearest branch/ATM locations, visit patelco.org/locations.” There is not an estimated time for the service to be available. KRON4 has reached out to Patelco.
