Cranston street floods after rain; car submerged

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms that occurred on Sunday afternoon resulted in multiple streets being flooded in Cranston.

In one case, a vehicle was submerged in water in Cranston near where Wilbur Avenue and Oaklawn Avenue meet.
A second vehicle that was able to get past the water then got stalled on the other side.
Both Cranston Police and Cranston Fire responded to this incident.
Everyone who was in those vehicles got out safely before authorities were on the scene, according to Cranston Police.
Another instance of street flooding also happened on Cranston Street, according to a viewer-submitted video.
