North Carolina man charged following headon crash on Route 33

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A North Carolina man was charged with DWI following a head-on crash early Sunday morning that injured another man, Buffalo Police said.
Just after 2:30 a.m., the man, 43, was allegedly traveling the wrong way on Route 33 near the Best Street exit. His Ford Edge struck another vehicle head-on, according to police.
Police say a 25-year-old Cheektowaga driver was hit. He was transported to ECMC and taken into surgery for multiple injuries.
The North Carolina man was not hurt. He was also charged with vehicular assault, among other offenses.
