Loons outslug Captains, 1210, in errorfilled contest

Visiting Great Lakes outslugged the Captains, 12-10, in a game that also featured a combined 19 strikeouts, 17 walks and seven errors.
Lake County enjoyed an 8-3 lead until the fifth inning, when the Loons got to Trenton Denholm for eight runs, in part because of four Captains errors. Denholm was charged with nine runs for the game, with six earned. He gave up six hits, including a three-run home run.
Angel Genao had three of the Catpains’ 11 hits, including an RBI double. Jorge Burgos had two hits and scored a run.
Lake County (46-28) won four of the five games played in the series, with one rainout. The Captains travel to Dayton for three games beginning July 1.
