FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE) - After the City of Fresno launched an investigation into an alleged, inappropriate off-duty relationship between Fresno's chief of police and a non-city employee, Paco Balderrama then resigned from the department.
Now, the city is tasked with a months-long search for a new chief of police. Meanwhile, Fresno City Council passes a $2 billion budget for next year, despite a possible budget deficit of more than $40 million. We hear from council president Annalisa Perea about the tough choices the council had to make to address the budget shortfall.

And ahead of the election this November, President Joe Biden and former president Donald Trump take to the debate stage to make their pitch to voters before ballots are cast.
