ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Workers from across the state gathered for a Rochester Rally and March with the Poor People's Campaign Saturday. In solidarity with the Washington D.C. rally that also happened Saturday, the Rochester Labor Council, community organizations, and faith leaders were just some of the groups represented in Saturday's meeting. Leaders told News 8 their campaigns goal is to demand a national agenda of democracy, racial injustice, and peace. "There's a saying that if you fail remember where you came from. You're doomed to repeat it again. We want to try and go ahead and continuously fight to fight, and deal with the issues at hand. The issues that we were seeing in the 70's, the 80's, the 60's and the 50's we're still seeing here in 2024," Vice President of the United Health Care Workers Tracey Harrison said. The event happened at the Aeneon Missionary Baptist Church, and if you would like to get involved with their group you can check out their website here.
