(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPSO) announced on Friday, June 28 that it arrested a suspect involved in a series of vehicle burglaries earlier this month. On June 26 at approximately 3 a.m., the EPSO Communication Center received a call regarding a business alarm from Springs Armory on Waynoka Road. When officials arrived, they found an unoccupied vehicle in front of the building. A review of surveillance video showed the vehicle driving into the building, and two individuals entering the premises. Another vehicle was waiting outside. The two individuals ran out of the building and entered the second vehicle before officials arrived. At 8 a.m. on June 26, officers received a second call regarding vehicle theft in the Security/Widefield area. The suspects matched the description from the earlier burglary and the stolen vehicle was found in the neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers converged on the area, ultimately locating the individuals. All three suspects fled when they saw deputies. One 12-year-old boy was caught immediately and a second suspect, Victor Parada Jr. who had just celebrated his 18th birthday, was apprehended later. A third suspect evaded arrest.
