INDIANAPOLIS - Police are investigating after two people were shot and killed in separate incidents on Indy's near north side. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, at 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the 3100 block of North Capitol Avenue on the on the report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they located a male with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. Police said he was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. A police report indicated he later died; a homicide investigation is underway. A few minutes later, officers were called to the 700 block of West 32nd Street on the report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they located a second male with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased, according to police. IMPD could not confirm the age of either victim. IMPD is stressing to the community to find better solutions to solve their problems than guns. "There's better ways of handling conflict. As I've mentioned before, talk to a neighbor, talk to a preacher, talk to a pastor, talk to whomever. Come talk to a police officer. We'll try to help you solve some of these issues," said Lt.
